Tim Tebow is a virgin...
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footbal...yhoo&type=lgns
^ to sum up:
reporter asks if Tebow is "saving himself for marriage" - to which Tebow comfortably answers "yes".
i could really care less about his personal life, however i do have a few questions for you guys concerning the article and it's impact overall:
1. Was this reporter's question out of line?
2. Do we have a right to know this type of detail about his life?
3. Do you think Tebow told the truth? (furthermore, do you think he has the same definition of "sex" as you and I?)
4. Whether or not you're a Florida/Tebow fan (i went to UT Knox...so you know where i stand), how does this "news" affect your opinion of him?
my answers:
the question wasn't out of line - tebow is a major public figure for the university and college football in general and we have a right to ask whatever questions we want. that being said, he also has the right to not answer our questions.
i'm not a terribly religious person, so it's hard for me to fathom how strong his dedication is to his faith, but he appears on the surface to be very devout. i have no reason to not believe him, although i have to say i'm quite surprised since he could probably have any woman he wanted.
finally, i'd say that if true, i'm pretty impressed with his convictions.

Who's Tebow, I don't follow college FB?
1. It should have been out of line and expected of him, but those days are past... at least for the moment.
2. No.
3. Dunno.
4. If he's telling the truth, then it doesn't affect my opinion of him.

no offense, but you list your location as Florida and you don't know who tebow is?? lol
anyway, he's the quarterback for the university of florida and has received incredible press coverage during his college career due to his seemingly perfect morals (and quarterbacking skills, of course)...oh and he's also the only person to ever win the heisman trophy as an underclassman - i believe he was a sophomore?

1) Yup
2) Not unless he makes it public.
3) Not at all, just playing the "sensitive" guy role.
4)I could care less about Tebow....he's not a Spartan, and nobody outside of Gainsville will remember him in a couple years.

1. Kind of. Tim Tebow doesn't care though so it's not important.
2. Why is this even a question? Of course we don't have a right to know this, but if he wants to share it why shouldn't he?
3. I don't know and I don't care.
4. It doesn't. I hadn't even heard of him before you posted this.

1+2. Why do you care, its a guy we are talking about.
[As far as Virginity goes, it's about untouched females.
If you have dick (y-chromosome if you believe in this biology wohwoh), you are not part of the group in question.]
3+4. No Idea who this guy is, don't care.
But may I, as a foreign devil, ask a simple question as well?
For those of you guys with high morals based on your so called judeo-christian values:
Is it still common practise to drag your newly wed wife to her fathers doorstep and stone her to death, if there are no traces of blood to be found on the bedsheet?

like i said in my first post, i could care less about his personal life.
what i find interesting about this story is how it flies in the face of one of the biggest athletic stereotypes out there - that an athlete of his caliber has had sex with many women.
Also, i think it brings up the topic of journalistic prying, and whether his personal life has the right to remain personal. This is especially true for someone like Tebow, who has used his fame to promote christian beliefs and teachings in this country and abroad. If he chooses to use his fame for this role, is it fair to question him on his own teachings? Should he be expected to live by the beliefs he teaches, and how many are surprised about his claims of doing just that?
in regards to the last part of your post...you might want to get outside and meet some people. there are always a few bad apples in every barrel, but i think you'll find that there are a lot of good people in the world, religious and non-religious.

That sounds like shiria law.
Regardless of its origin you can't even punch a woman for cheating on you after you get married, much less stone her to death for things she did before hand.

@Winterclaw: Just shows you that Mo and Joe (Smith) had a lot in common.
Though Mo seemed to have more a thing for plagiarism and Deuteronomy.
While the other guy was more of a free writer.
Now seriously, my main intention wasn't bashing, I just find it somewhat funny that people seem to aply the whole virginity(/no sex until marriage) thing to men.

Actually, I think it's the opposite - I remember there being quite a big ordeal about Jessica Simpson wanting to "save it until marriage." Either way you are correct in that the assumptions people make are often humorous.

What's wrong with telling men they can't have sex before marriage either? Seems fair to tell men to stay pure as well as tell women.

Everyone has different morals, I love how some say "Oh its bad!" while others say "If you don't your a nothing!". Morals are different per person. Don't judge because that's how YOU are.

I mentioned that in IRC the other day. No one knew what that was.
